Meet the Doctors
Dr. James A. Herron
Dr. Jim Herron received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from The Ohio State University in 1997. While at Ohio State he served two years as the Student Government President and was selected to be the Team Dentist for The Ohio State Athletics Department. He then continued his two year post graduate training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC by earning certification in a general practice residency. While serving as chief dental resident in the second year, Dr. Herron focused on traumatic dental injuries, dental care for medically compromised patients and conscious sedation.
Dr. Herron joined the practice of Dr. Michael Catanese, DDS in 1999. Dr. Herron continues to focus on post graduate education by attending numerous continuing education courses focusing on comprehensive cosmetic, reconstructive, and preventive dentistry at the Dawson Institute, L.D. Pankey Institute and Spear Institute. His professional memberships include: American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, Charlotte Dental Society, Pierre Fauchard Academy, Academy of Sports Dentistry, and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He is a Past President of the Charlotte Dental Society. Dr. Herron also works with Dr. Catanese as the official team dentists for the Carolina Panthers of the NFL.
Dr. Herron has been married to his wife Raelynn for 16 years and they have two children. In his free time he enjoys family vacations, golf, skiing, photography and outdoor activities.
Dr. Michael A. Catanese
Dr Michael A Catanese has been in practice in Charlotte for over 35 years. His practice focus is comprehensive restorative and preventive dentistry. He currently serves as team dentist for the NFL Carolina Panthers. Dr Catanese is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society and Charlotte Dental Society and volunteers with NC Missions of Mercy Dental Clinics. His practice is located in the Myers Park/Midtown area near Carolinas Medical Center and Presbyterian Hospitals.
